Here’s a recap of ETF activity across the Canadian market this week, from launches and filings to key structural updates.
ETF Launches
iA Clarington Expands Active ETF Offering
iA Clarington Investments Inc. expanded its Active ETF lineup with the launch of ETF series for the IA Clarington Global Multifactor Equity Fund (IMFE) and IA Clarington Thematic Innovation Class (ITIN), bringing existing mutual fund strategies into an exchange-traded format. The multifactor strategy uses a quantitative approach across factors like value, momentum, and quality to deliver diversified global equity exposure, while the thematic strategy focuses on U.S. companies benefiting from technological innovation. Both ETFs offer investors access to established portfolio management in a more flexible, lower-cost structure.
Ninepoint Accelerates Single-Stock ETF Expansion
At the same time, Ninepoint Partners LP launched a suite of single-stock ETFs tied to widely followed names including Nvidia, Tesla, Alphabet, Intel, Palantir, as well as Constellation Software, Celestica, and Kinross Gold, using covered call strategies designed to generate monthly income.
ETF Filings
Hamilton Targets Yield With New Covered Call Filings
Elsewhere, Hamilton ETFs is doubling down on income with new filings that extend its YIELD MAXIMIZER™ lineup. These strategies take a portfolio-of-ETFs approach, primarily allocating to covered call funds to deliver income. One of the filings stands out for having no direct management fee, though investors still bear the cost of underlying holdings.
Other ETF Updates
CI GAM Enhances Income Consistency With Monthly Distributions
Meanwhile, CI Global Asset Management is refining the mechanics of income delivery rather than launching new products. By shifting several covered call ETFs to monthly distributions, the firm is aligning its payout structure with investor expectations.
